Gypsy jazz is a lively musical style that emerged in the 1930s, characterised by acoustic guitars, violins and fast solos. It was pioneered by the Romani guitarist Django Reinhardt, together with the violinist Stéphane Grappelli. The style is also known as jazz manouche.
